Reconciliation journey

HealthShare NSW is dedicated to continuously developing its reconciliation commitments and taking meaningful action to Close the Gap. We are working towards building a workplace where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel valued, respected, and supported.

Why reconciliation matters

Reconciliation is essential to shaping a culturally inclusive workplace. As an organisation, we support the call for equity and equality by promoting truth-telling, cultural safety, and mutual respect. These principles create the foundation for a connected, empowered and culturally aware workforce – one that contributes positively to a reconciled Australia.  At HealthShare NSW, we are focused on building genuine, long-term partnerships with Aboriginal communities and embedding reconciliation through respectful relationships, cultural understanding and meaningful action.

Our Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs)

At the heart of our commitment is our Reflect RAPopen_in_new (launched in 2022) and our Innovate RAPopen_in_new (launched July 2026) as our formal statements of dedication to reconciliation.

Both developed in partnership with Reconciliation Australiaopen_in_new Reconciliation Australia, our Reflect RAP laid the foundations for building respectful relationships, strengthening cultural understanding and creating meaningful pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Now, our Innovate RAP builds on this foundation and sets clear, purposeful deliverables to keep us accountable.

We stand alongside more than 3,000 organisations in a national movement working towards genuine, sustainable, and lasting change.
