HealthShare NSW recently joined its long-term diversity and inclusion partner Jobsupport to celebrate more than ten years of partnership and four decades of Jobsupport’s operation.
This important milestone was marked with an awards ceremony at which HealthShare NSW and three employees were recognised for sustained involvement and long-term participation in inclusive employment achieved through supported employment arrangements.
The staff members recognised at our awards ceremony were:
- Jessica Collins, who has been working in cleaning at Royal North Shore Hospital for 12 years
- Sangeetha Punnia-Moorthy, who has been working in cleaning at Royal North Shore Hospital for 11 years
- Daniel Delasio, who has been working in Food Services at Westmead Hospital for 16 years
‘I enjoy the company of my co-workers and my supervisors and my bosses. I really enjoy working in a team and I enjoy my work.’
- Daniel Delasio.
The event also recognised HealthShare NSW’s long-standing involvement in employing and supporting workers with intellectual disability and highlighted the importance of inclusive employment practices to support people to build long-term working careers. It also acknowledged the role local teams and leaders who support employees have in everyday operations.
'These long-term achievements show what’s possible when supportive workplaces and dedicated teams come together. We remain committed to ensuring people of all abilities can contribute, grow and succeed across our services',
- Shubjeet Kaur, Executive Director, Operations, HealthShare NSW.
HealthShare NSW has purposefully committed to support disability employment, strengthened through our partnership with Jobsupport, and continues to see the outcomes of that commitment reflected in sustained careers and supported employment pathways across our services.
